We are proud of our involvement.
The people at Michaelson, Connor & Boul believe that doing business with integrity is of the utmost importance. We also believe that having integrity means having a commitment to the communities where we live and work. Reaching out to those in need through a variety of charitable organizations is a fundamental philosophy shared by all MCB employees. A few of the larger coordinated efforts are described below.
One of MCB’s owners, Joan Heid, founded the Dennis John Heid Memorial Scholarship Foundation to honor her brother who passed away shortly after graduating from Santa Ana High School. Each year, students from the high school are selected to receive a scholarship based on academic achievement and the candidate’s desire to succeed through education. The student receives a full-ride scholarship which includes living expenses, and the student is invited to work at MCB during school breaks.
Every year MCB selects one major charity to support on a companywide basis. Sometimes that charity is chosen for many consecutive years, as was the case for The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. With MCB’s monetary support and over 90% of employee participation, we have raised many thousands of dollars in donations. Other organizations we have supported are the Special Olympics, the Down Syndrome Association, and the breast cancer foundation Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Help to a Local Family
We also reach out in a personal way. MCB knows that in these difficult economic times that there are many families in need. MCB adopts one of those families and employees donate food and gifts so that they can have a happier holiday.
In keeping with our spirit of community involvement, both MCB as a company, along with many individual employees give back to their communities by volunteering their services, participating in fundraising events, or by monetary contributions. Many organizations have benefited by the giving nature of our employees:
